With no clear end in sight, the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic is still having a huge impact on the events industry. Festivals, celebrations and gatherings are being put on hold up and down the country and around the world as the general public remains under lockdown.

Summer is the busiest period of Bristol's renowned events calendar, but thousands of visitors have been disappointed in recent weeks by a barrage of cancellations and postponements.

See below for a quick rundown of all the major occasions that have been confirmed cancelled or postponed so far in 2020.

St Pauls Carnival - POSTPONED

The St Pauls Carnival CIC confirmed in late March that the 2020 Carnival would be postponed, with alternative plans in the pipeline for community events and a two-week Fringe in September.

Originally due to take place this year on Saturday 4 July, St Pauls Carnival is one of Bristol's biggest and best-loved parties, regularly drawing crowds of around 100,000 people for a full day of music, dancing, food and much more.

Organisers are yet to confirm on social media, but this year's Bristol Harbour Festival has been cancelled following Mayor Marvin Rees' recent announcement that all large events in Bristol are to be cancelled until the end of July.

Another huge part of summer in Bristol, the Harbour Festival will be missed by many this year. Be sure to keep an eye on their social media channels for news, updates and future plans once things return to normal.

Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival - POSTPONED

The eagerly-anticipated 2020 edition of the Bristol International Jazz & Blues Festival was due to take place in late March, but was unfortunately cancelled at the last minute.

Set to invite some of the world's most esteemed jazz and blues acts to perform across the city's favourite stages, the lineup at this year's festival looked to be one of the best yet.

The team hope to move the 2020 Jazz & Blues Festival to a new date in Autumn - follow news and updates on their Facebook page.

Love Saves The Day - POSTPONED

Billed as the Last Dance at Eastville Park, this year's edition of the popular Love Saves The Day festival was set to be the last at its current home in BS5. Orbital, Peggy Gou, Kano and many more were confirmed among one of the festival's biggest-ever lineups.

With the festival due to take place in May, Team Love were forced to postpone following Bristol City Council's cancellation of events until late July.

In what has arguably been the most high-profile cancellation due to the Coronavirus outbreak so far, Glastonbury organisers Emily and Michael Eavis confirmed in March that the 50th edition of the world-renowned festival would be put on hold and rescheduled for 2021.

As part of their statement, the Glastonbury team confirmed that those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets for Glastonbury 2020 would have their booking rolled over to the revised date next year. Head to the Glastonbury website for more info and updates.
