1020 Radio release charity compilation in support of frontline NHS staff

The 25-track compilation features new music from a selection of renowned Bristol-based artists.

 

1020 Radio has become synonymous with the Bristol's forward-thinking sound in recent years, broadcasting a wide range of local artists since its inception in 2015.

 

Their broad network of resident DJs and associates has motivated station owners Joelie and Sean to commission the first edition of 1020 Curated, a compilation put together in support of NHS staff on the frontline during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Released today (Friday 24 April), the project features 25 original compositions from local artists, covering a huge range of electronic styles and sounds.

 

All profits will be donated to Above & Beyond, a local charity dedicated to raising funds to help NHS staff in Bristol city centre hospitals.

 

1020 Radio has been nurturing Bristol musical culture and emerging musical talent for the best part of five years, championing creativity, diversity and community through a variety of projects.

 

Kicking off their 1020 Curated series will be long-standing resident, unperson. The revered producer's 25-track compilation will celebrate Bristol's soundsystem heritage, while also exploring an array of abstract sounds and structures.

 

Available exclusively via Bandcamp, the first 25 copies of 1020 Curated sold will be bundled with a premium 350gsm print, designed by Montag Freedoms.

 

All proceeds will be donated directly to Above & Beyond, raising vital funds to support the wellbeing of frontline NHS staff and volunteers tackling the unprecedented challenge of providing care to those affected by the Coronavirus outbreak.
