Full programme announced for Bristol Harbour Festival 2023

Three nights of nautical magic await as Bristol Harbour Festival is once more set to take over the city’s harbourside with five stages, including the iconic Circus Playground, Harbour View and the Music Quarter.

 

Bristol Harbour Festival returns to Bristol from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 July 2023.

 

Celebrating the 650th anniversary of Bristol, the city’s flagship event is back bringing the biggest and best talents from the local area to the iconic harbourside. Organisers have worked around the clock to produce an unforgettable spectacle of music, circus and children’s entertainment over a mile radius.

With just two weeks to go until Harbour Festival kicks off, get yourself acquainted with five unmissable performance spaces (including the Music Quarter, programmed by local legend Tony Benjamin) featuring a jam-packed programme that should not be missed.

 

Harbour View (Lloyds Amphitheatre) is a familiar sight for Harbour Fest regulars, under a new name attendees will be able to enjoy a bite to eat from the food court with a soundtrack provided by Access Creative College, Unjima Radio and community radio station BCFM. The Music Quarter at Queen Square will feature a lineup curated by festival legend Tony Benjamin. Perhaps the biggest influence on Harbour Fest’s distinct sound, expect energetic sets from all-female DJ troupe Booty Bass, Bristol reggae act Da Fuchaman’s Fire Blaze Band, The Windrush Choir, long-serving local DJ John Stapleton and more. Showcasing Bristol’s incredible maritime heritage, ‘On The Water’ at the historic floating harbour will offer a range of water-based, family-friendly events with the Young Shipwrights Boat Race, the legendary Cardboard Boat Race, a freestyle jetski masterclass from British champion Jack Moule to name but a few. College Green will be transformed into the ‘Circus Playground’ for the weekend, hosting a myriad of show-stopping entertainers. Ranging from daredevil stunts and circus performers to comedy shows and children’s entertainment courtesy of Bristol staples Cirque Bijou. Find out more about Circus Playground HERE

 

Finally, the team at Jelli Records have curated a diverse and chilled-out programme of acoustic performers for Millennium Square. Dubbed Jelli Shack, this calm beach-bar location will provide a platform for homegrown talent with choirs, bands and much more besides all scheduled. Explore the lineup HERE.

In addition to the main event, various harbourside venues will be hosting FREE fringe events across the weekend with Thekla putting on the likes of Tlya X An, Belishas, deadheading and more on Saturday 15 July.
