Plan a wintry day out for all the family at Westonbirt Arboretum

Throughout the festive period and into the frosty first months of the new year, the ever-popular Westonbirt Arboretum are running a playful family treasure hunt winter trail.

 

Westonbirt Arboretum’s Winter Family Trail runs each day of the week until Thursday 29 February 2024.

 

This playful family treasure hunt is a festive and fun way to discover more about the animals and plants that make themselves at home in the arboretum during the winter. All you need to do is pick up a collecting bag from the Welcome Building and head over to the Tree Top Walkway to find the start of the trail.

This fun, family-friendly trail is nice and simple, make your way through the treasure hunt, following the clues at each location along the way. You will find rubbings at each stop, with a total of 10 to find – why not gather up fallen natural winter treasures to remind you of your journey? Happy hunting!

Enchanted Christmas transports visitors to an enthralling winter wonderland, filled with sparkling lights, festive sounds, and spellbinding installations – making it a truly unforgettable experience for the whole family. Westonbirt Arboretum has designed this trail for families with children aged between 3 and 9 so it can be enjoyed by everyone. It’s not the only family fun that can be had at the site, there are also plenty of play areas, activity trails, family cycling routes resources and more.

 

If that’s not enough, Westonbirt also hosts regular music events, art exhibitions, sculpture trails and open-air screenings of classic cinema. Next year’s edition of Forest Live at Westonbirt Arboretum will see mega-stars Gregory Porter, Anne-Marie and Nile Rodgers & Chic play amongst a spectacular backdrop.
