The BBC Proms are coming to Bristol!

Bristol Beacon have today announced that the landmark venue will be one of the hosts for the world’s greatest classical music festival.

 

The BBC Proms 2024 will be at Bristol Beacon’s Beacon Hall and Lantern Hall from Saturday 24 to Monday 26 August 2024.

 

A real institution of the British classical music calendar, the 2024 BBC Proms season runs between Friday 19 July and Saturday 14 September. For those unable to experience the magic of the concerts live, every note of the season will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds, and 24 programmes will be available on TV and BBC iPlayer.

 

Tickets for these concerts will be open for booking on Saturday 18 May 2024.

As part of the recently introduced Proms Across the UK, four brilliant concerts will make up the Proms Bristol series. Expect a spectacular immersive performance ‘The Virtuous Circle’ from award-winning conductor Charles Hazlewood and Bristol-based innovators Paraorchestra.

 

Also performing will be the BBC Singers at 100 with a selection of acapella masterpieces, esteemed Ukranian conductor Kirill Karabits and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra with soloist Evelyn Glennie and a fun-filled CBeebies: Ocean Adventure with Kwamé Ryan, the Southbank Sinfonia and Andy Day.

 

The world’s greatest classical music festival, the BBC Proms, is back this summer with a host of special concerts, from Mozart and Tchaikovsky to Disco and Doctor Who, there is a whole lot going on in this year’s programme. Further details of the programme can be found on the BBC Proms website.
