Acclaimed multi-disciplinary artist Sickboy is returning to Bristol with a new show

Signalling his first Bristol gallery show Bristol for five years, ‘Dreams Are Only Dreams’ promises to be an immersive experience that highlights Sickboy’s innovative approach to art.

 

Sickboy’s ‘Dreams Are Only Dreams’ will preview at The PIT on Wells Road this Thursday 6 June 2024.

 

This highly anticipated return will be a multi-dimensional interactive installation and gallery show, showcasing both original artworks and newly editioned prints. The show will also see the debut of a brand-new gallery and creative hub in South Bristol.

Curated by Fluorescent Smogg, the exhibition will feature a Private View on June 5, at brand-new gallery space, The PIT in Totterdown. Known for pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms, Sickboy’s latest works are expected to captivate audiences with their unique blend of vibrant visuals and signature Comic Surrealism style. 
 

Sickboy, whose work has garnered worldwide acclaim, is excited to return to Bristol, a city with a rich cultural heritage and dynamic arts community. Speaking about the exhibition, he has said:

 

“This will be my first gallery show in my spiritual home of Bristol since the pandemic and it will be a colourful celebration of positivity with some exciting new pieces technology and interactivity to bring my words to life."

 

This marks a significant milestone in Sickboy’s career as he continues to break new ground and inspire audiences with his artistic ingenuity. This show follows his recent announcement of his desire to explore a new format of painting, paying homage to the origins of his painting practice.

 

With a shift in artistic approach, Sickboy has transformed his perception of form, composition, and content, allowing him to delve deeper into his range of symbolism, signs, and semiotics.”
