50 days until the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025

Posted on: 03 Jul 2025

With just 50 days to go until The Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 kicks off, a mural has been unveiled at Lloyds Amptitheatre on Bristol Harbourside today. It features England prop and Bristol Bears player Sarah Bern alongside 9-year-old community player Ava-Mai Greenslade, who was introduced to rugby through Impact ‘25 legacy funded activity delivered by the Bristol Bears Foundation.

Bern commented:

"It's an incredible feeling to see a mural of myself alongside Ava-Mai in a city that has become my home. I adore Bristol. The young me would never have thought that one day I’d have my face alongside some of the most brilliant street art in the world. What an honour! You’ve got to see it to believe it, and if murals in Bristol and Northampton can help inspire young girls and boys to pick up a rugby ball in such a big year for rugby in this country, then that will mean the world.”

Lloyds Ampthitheatre will be an Official Fan Zone for the Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 and will be open on 13th, 14th, 19th and 20th September. We will update here as soon as further details are released!

Ashton Gate Stadium will be hosting 2 of the quarter finals (on 13th and 14th September) as well as both semi finals (on 19th and 20th September). Tickets are still available here.

In the meantime if girls are interested in playing rugby then South Bristol Girls have an open day on Sunday 6th July from 10am until noon at their base at Bristol Barbarians Rugby Club, Norton Lane, Whitchurch, Bristol, BS14 0BT. They currently have Under 12's, Under 14's, Under 16's (likely 2 teams at this age group!) and an Under 19's team. Email southbristolgirlsrugby@gmail.com for more information.
