Iconic electronic duo Underworld added to FORWARDS lineup

With a vibrant programme of musical talent already planned, organisers have announced that the ‘Born Slippy’ stars will be joining the festival’s Sunday bill.

 

FORWARDS will take over Clifton Downs, Bristol on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2024.

 

In their only Bristol appearance of the year and fresh off the back of their eagerly anticipated world tour, Underworld will be joining a stellar lineup that includes such luminaries as Loyle Carner, Four Tet, LCD Soundsystem, Jessie Ware, Floating Points and more.

With three decades of experience at the pinnacle of electronic music, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith – better known as Underworld – have always challenged the conventions of dance with unparalleled ingenuity. This exciting announcement will only add to what promises to be an unforgettable Sunday of music.

 

It has also been announced that electronic favourites Maribou State will no longer be playing FORWARDS after the duo cancelled all their 2024 shows due to health issues. A replacement will soon be announced with the final acts also expected in the coming days.

 

Underworld will be joining headliners Loyle Carner and LCD Soundsystem as well as acts including Jessie Ware, Four Tet, Floating Points, Greentea Peng, Yussef Dayes, Yard Act, Nubya Garcia, Crazy P, Baxter Dury, CMAT, Hak Baker and more for one of the UK’s most progressive new music festivals.

 

Speaking about the festival, Jim King (European Festivals, AEG presents CEO) has said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing FORWARDS back to the Bristol Downs for its third year. Offering a packed lineup of international music acts with headliners LCD Soundsystem and Loyle Carner, supported by the likes of Floating Points and Yard Act.

 

“The two-day festival will also see timely debate and conversation on the INFORMATION, providing an important platform for discussion and will be featuring a host of experts, disruptors, creatives, writers and thinkers.”
