Off-kilter indie experimentalists The Breeders are headlining the Sunday of the much-loved summer concert series, closing the week to the picturesque backdrop of Bristol Harbourside.

The Breeders plus support will play Canon’s Marsh Amphitheatre on Sunday 30 June 2024.

With high-profile support slots from California-based garage rock favourite Ty Segall and Bristol’s very own art rockers Squid already announced, festival organisers have supplemented the line-up with a whole heap of exciting acts from Bristol and beyond – this is a must-attend event for all Bristol indie music connoisseurs!

Formed in 1989 by Kim Deal of Pixies fame and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses (later joined by Deal’s twin sister Kelley and Perfect Disaster’s Josephine Wiggs), The Breeders swiftly carved a niche in the alternative rock scene with their distinctive blend of punk, pop, and indie influences.

Their seminal debut album Pod (1990) garnered critical acclaim for its raw energy and experimental soundscapes, with their 1993 platinum-selling album Last Splash - and its smash hit cut ‘Cannonball’ - cementing their status as pioneers of the 90s alternative rock movement.

The main support for this event comes from prolific psych-inspired garage revivalist Ty Segall, angular Bristol-based post-punk quintet Squid and cult 2000s Brazilian rock band CSS, who are reuniting for a special farewell tour.

There will also be a healthy dose of up-and-coming talent at the event with chaos rock trio Mary In The Junkyard, Bristol punk trio Grandmas House, haunting local singer-songwriter PEM, sarcastic pop outfit Welly, noisy art rock trio Sunglasz Vendor and Brighton-based vintage pop group The Stanford Family Band.
