Soap Soup are bringing a unique family show to Tobacco Factory Theatres

Posted on: 26 Apr 2024

Hitting the South Bristol theatre in May, Minny Stynker is a new family show and augmented reality experience inspired by an original story from Artistic Director Tomasin Cuthbert.

Minny Stynker runs at Tobacco Factory Theatres from Wednesday 29 May to Saturday 1 June 2024.

This is a story about the magic of creativity and how we reach out to each other in the darkness and together, bring the impossible to life, told through a distinctive multi-media show – courtesy of innovative children’s theatre specialists Soap Soup Theatre CIC.

Kit is all alone and moving house to a new city where it is always raining. Making new friends is always hard, but here, it feels impossible. The rain beats down on the roof and drips down the window panes, trapping Kit in the quiet stillness of their dingy bedroom.

However, everything changes one night when Kit is idly scribbling to pass the time. The swirls and whirls on the page giggle into a life of their own, and a very unusual adventure unfolds – don’t miss the chance to join Kit on this magical journey!

Devised by one of Bristol’s leading theatre makers specifically for family audiences, Soap Soup combines top-quality children’s theatre with the magic of projection mapping, bringing the vibrant illustrations from the book to life.

Minny Stynker will bring you a wonderful and unique theatre experience, the like of which you’ve never experienced before. The show is recommended for audience members aged 3 and above with performances taking place at 10.30 AM and 2.30 PM.
