Tickets are now on sale for a classic 90s rock band at SWX

As of today, tickets went on sale for an SWX gig featuring the classic, chart-topping Scottish nineties rockers Gun.

Gun are a Glaswegian hard rock band of much acclaim, known for their popularity and activity throughout the 90s. Originally called Blind Allez, then for a short time 'Phobia', GUN were formed in 1987 by Giuliano Gizzi (guitar) and Cami Morlotti (bass), with Mark Rankin (vocals), Alan Thornton (drums) and David Aitken and Gary Moore (guitar). With multiple hits across the UK and Europe, with songs like “Better Days”, “Crazy You”, and (of course) their smash-hit cover of Cameo’s “Word Up!”, Gun burned bright throughout the nineties.

Their star rose to the point where they joined multiple legendary rock bands on their European tours; bands like Jon Bon Jovi’s Bon Jovi, English rockers Def Leppard – and perhaps most notably, The Rolling Stones themselves, who Gun joined on their 1990 Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour.

Gun unfortunately split in 1997 due to declining album sales, and the different members wanting to move on to other creative projects. However, in 2008, to the delight of Scottish hard rock fans everywhere, Gun reformed after an impromptu gig by the Gizzis. Since then, Gun have risen back into acclaim, with multiple charting albums released since.

Gun’s newest album, Hombres, is set to release in just a week, Friday 12 April – which follows the well-received The Calton Songs from 2022. To celebrate Hombres, Gun are setting off on a fresh tour – with the band visiting Bristol’s refurbished SWX on Saturday 7 December 2024.

Tickets are now on sale for the Bristol leg of the tour, and will no doubt sell out quick! You can pick yours up from SWX’s website. To hear more from Gun, you can head to their website, or their social media.
