Ahead of his upcoming UK tour, ‘Do You Believe In The Power of Rock N Roll’, the former member of The Membranes has announced some special guests who will be joining him.

John Robb will appear at Bristol Folk House on Park Street on Friday 19 April 2024.

At the Bristol show, Robb will illustrate the journalistic skills that have made him a household name by interviewing Adam Devonshire, the bassist of acclaimed Bristol post-punk outfit IDLES, as well as discussing his recently released book, The Art Of Darkness – The History of Goth.

John Robb is a many-faceted creature; not just a well-known TV regular, he is a best-selling author, musician, presenter, journalist, pundit, music website boss, publisher, festival boss, eco-warrior, vegan behemoth and talking head singer from post-punk legends, The Membranes.

Having grown up in Blackpool before punk rock saved his life, Robb formed the influential band The Membranes before becoming a member of the rock press: coining the phrase Britpop, documenting the Madchester scene and being the first person to interview Nirvana.

Since then, he’s launched his music and culture website Louder Than War, regularly presented TV and radio music documentaries and also penned countless bestsellers including Punk Rock – an Oral History and The Stone Roses and the Resurrection of British Pop – with a new book released last year.

As well as Adam Devonshire (IDLES) in Bristol, Robb will be welcoming such illustrious names as Sisters of Mercy founder Gary Marx, The Lovely Eggs legend Holly Ross, former Fall stalwart Paul Hanley, Wire maestro Colin Newman, The Stranglers’ veteran Baz Warne and Mancunian people’s poet Tony Walsh.

John Robb will appear at Bristol Folk House on Park Street on Friday 19 April 2024 with tickets available to purchase, HERE.
