With their latest album, All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade, set for release next month, the much-loved indie legends have announced a new UK tour to an already busy schedule.

The Libertines will play O2 Academy Bristol on Tuesday 8 October 2024.

After recently announcing a hotly anticipated new album as well as a string of intimate dates throughout the UK, the last gang in town The Libertines will embark on a tour of larger venues. Don’t miss the chance to catch ‘The Likely Lads’  and their famously frenetic live show!

Led by the legendary pairing of Carl Barât and Pete Doherty, The Libertines’ chaotic yet melodic style brought together such disparate influences as The Kinks, The Strokes and The Clash – whose guitarist Mick Jones long acted as the band’s producer.

The idiosyncrasy and charm of the London-based group grew from the duo’s raggedly poetic songwriting as well as their well-documented tumultuous relationship. This charged chemistry ignited in 2002 with the band’s debut, Up The Bracket – a record that helped to reinvigorate the UK indie scene.

Their self-titled follow-up came in 2004 and was an immense success, but – due to Doherty’s unpredictability, addiction issues and time spent in prison – was released whilst he was not in the band. The Libertines broke up not long after to pursue their own solo careers.

Reforming in the 2010s, the band released their long-awaited comeback album, Anthems of Doomed Youth, in 2015 to widespread acclaim. The Libertines are an intriguing, charismatic band who, over the years, have given us such hits as ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’, ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’, ‘Time For Heroes’ and ‘What Katie Did’.

The Libertines are a once-seen and never forgotten live act, here to save humanity from holograms, virtual reality and AI auto-tuned bullshit, so switch off your pocket-held marketing machine and experience the raw analogue euphoria at the hands of these delirious musical chaos-mongers.

As well as Bristol, The Libertines’ All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade tour will drop by venues in Dublin, Belfast, Birmingham, Norwich, Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, Nottingham, Leeds, London, Sheffield, Newcastle and Manchester. The new album is set for release on Friday 29 March 2024.
