The Museum of Youth Culture has announced a yearlong collaboration with Fred Perry, collecting youth culture memories from across the UK through a series of ‘Show & Tell’ events at regional Fred Perry stores.

Photographs and ephemera brought along will be scanned for MOYC’s archives to preserve the history of young people and will be part of an exhibition at Fred Perry’s Camden store later this year.

So, whether it’s getting ready in your teenage bedroom, bundling in the car with your mates for your first festival or documenting your journey into town with a full Facebook photo album, it’s time to get digging!

Bring along any items or pictures to Fred Perry Bristol this Saturday for a FREE ‘Show & Tell’ event (including a talk from a museum expert) to celebrate youth and subcultures. The ‘Grown up in Britain’ campaign invites the public to help build the MOYC through submitted photographs objects and memories.

Since 2019, the museum has received thousands of submissions from the Roaring 20s to modern Drill culture. These shoebox archives feature everything from photos and home footage to oral accounts, flyers and ticket stubs to band t-shirts.
