Bash For Lashes stopping in Bristol as part of her first UK headline tour in 5 years

Posted on: 23 Feb 2024

Alongside the release of a brand-new album, the mystical indie singer-songwriter will embark on a limited run of UK dates, with Bristol one of the scheduled stops.

Bat For Lashes will play Bristol Beacon’s Beacon Hall on Wednesday 19 June 2024.

Often compared to such alternative luminaries as Kate Bush and Björk, Bat For Lashes has not released an album for five years now, meaning yesterday’s announcement of a new record entitled The Dream of Delphi (due for release on Friday 31 May 2024). General sale tickets for this show go live at 10 AM on Friday 1 March 2024.

Bat For Lashes is the project of Natasha Khan, an English-Pakistani singer-songwriter born into the legendary squash-playing dynasty of the Khan family. Born in London, she taught herself the piano when she was just eleven years old.

The project itself was thought up while Khan was in San Francisco, with Bat For Lashes’ debut single, ‘The Wizard’ coming in 2006 while Khan was teaching at a nursery school. Soon after, she released her acclaimed debut album, Fur and Gold, which was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize.

The following year, Bat For Lashes was nominated for two Brit Awards: British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist. Her second record, Two Suns, was released in 2009, featuring collaborations with Yeasayer and, astonishingly, Scott Walker. The album also picked up a Mercury nomination, as well as another Brit nomination for Khan.

Bat For Lashes third album, The Haunted Man, came in 2012 and once more earned Khan a Best British Female Brit Award nomination. Her next full-length effort The Bride – a concept album about a would-be bride whose fiancé has died – was released in 2016. Khan’s most recent record, Lost Girls, came in September 2019.

In addition to Bristol, Bat For Lashes’ eagerly anticipated The Dream of Delphi tour will see her perform at venues in Oxford, Birmingham, London, Bexhill and Manchester. Visit the artist's website for more information.
