Led by charismatic American frontwoman Chrissie Hinds, Pretenders rose from London’s burgeoning punk/new wave scene in the late 1970s. However, the group were not a natural fit in that spiky, visceral world, boasting a far more melodic and accessible sound.

Their debut album, Pretenders, was released in 1980 and soared to the top of the UK charts and has since become known as one of the greatest ever first-time efforts. With hit singles including ‘I’ll Stand By You’, ‘Brass in Pocket’, ‘Don’t Get Me Wrong’, ‘2000 Miles’, ‘Back on the Chain Gang’ in their roster, Pretenders are are real rock force.

The band began the tour cycle of their latest record, Relentless, earlier this year with a headline set as part of Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival and went on to play clubs up and down the UK – treating fans to unreleased new songs as well as their smash hit back catalogue.

In addition to Bristol, Pretenders’ upcoming Relentless tour will see them play UK venues in Gateshead, Edinburgh, Manchester, London, Oxford, Nottingham and Birmingham across February and March 2024.

Pretenders will drop by Bristol Beacon’s Beacon Hall on Sunday 3 March 2024 with tickets on general sale this Friday 10 November 2023. Secure your tickets HERE.
