The Eternal Daughter follows an artist and her elderly mother (both of whom are played by Tilda Swinton) as they are forced to confront buried secrets when they return to a former family home – now a hotel haunted by its own past.
Featuring two towering and deeply moving performances from the legend that is Swinton, The Eternal Daughter is a gothic mystery drama for the ages. The film screening will be followed by a special Q&A with Swinton and director Joanna Hogg, hosted by Tara Judah.
Tilda Swinton is one of the UK’s most fascinating film stars, equally celebrated by art-house crowds and worldwide audiences alike. Having won an Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress alongside George Clooney in Michael Clayton (2007), she has also received critical acclaim for We Need To Talk About Kevin, Suspiria, Orlando and many more.
An immensely talented director and screenwriter, Joanna Hogg made her directorial and screenwriting debut in 2007 with Unrelated – Tom Hiddleston’s debut feature. Since then, Hogg has received particular praise for The Souvenir Parts I and II, her two-parted semi-autobiographical drama about a young filmmaker entwined in a doomed love affair.
This special preview of Hogg’s latest film The Eternal Daughter, followed by a special Q&A, is scheduled at Watershed on Tuesday 14 November 2023. Grab your tickets while you can, HERE.
