Dame Edith will lead attendees on a quest through the streets of Bristol in 1486. A very wise woman, Edith knows her herbs as well as houses and knows spells as well as she knows the streets of her hometown. She follows in the footsteps of William Worcestre, her mistress’ brother, who mapped Bristol by walking its streets from one end to the other.
This walking tour will be led by Show of Strength, revealing hidden charms and places as well as sharing forgotten stories of Bristol and the people that inhabited our dear city. The walk takes approximately 90 minutes and covers 1.5 miles, ending with refreshments and activities for children – the tour is suitable for anyone over the age of 10.
Show of Stength have produced forward-thinking in non-traditional spaces for more than 20 years and have since created three informal and intimate venues around Bristol. However, since 2008, they have put on works in streets and shops all over Bristol with a range of theatre productions and walking tours.
Current productions include the ever-popular, BBC endorsed ‘Blood and Butchery in Bedminster’, the swashbuckling ‘Blood, Blackbeard and Buccaneers’, ‘Bedminster, The Brinks Mat Robbery and a World First in Money Laundering (documenting Britain’s biggest heist), ‘Treasure Island Story Walk’ on Bristol Docks and many more.
