Halloween in Bristol 2023: 3 massive pumpkin patches just outside Bristol

October is upon us and that means that it’s time to ready a wheelbarrow and take to the fields in and around Bristol to pick your perfect pumpkin.

 

If you want to do Halloween right this year then why not get you and the family down to one of the South West’s various seasonal pumpkin patches, with many of the sites offering spooky entertainment, games, and refreshments.

 

In this article, we’ve taken a look at three of Bristol’s most popular pumpkin picking destinations…

 

Avon Valley’s Pumpkin Patch | Pixash Lane, Bath Road, Keynsham, BS31 1TP

 

Always one of Bristol’s most popular pumpkin picking locations, Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch has already been open for two days! At Avon Valley, you’ll be able to grab a wheelbarrow and roam the patch (or the event area) as well as get involved with some seasonal fun with theatrical performers, pumpkin paintball and a funfair all taking place on site.

 

This year, the Pumpkin Patch will be open on 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 October with pumpkins priced based on their size, ranging from £2 for 15 cms to anything larger than 45 cm for £12. Secure your tickets HERE.

 

 

Farrington’s Pumpkin Picking Festival | Farrington’s Farm Shop, Farrington Gurney, BS39 6UB

 

Next up is a whopping 12-acre pumpkin patch at Farrington’s with classic ‘Cinderella’ pumpkins, white ‘Ghost’ pumpkins and much more. As well as the patch, there will be spooky attractions including ‘Whinny The Witch of Farrington Gurney’, a carving marquee, Farmer Andy’s Straw Pool, a pop up funfair and more.

 

Farrington’s Pick Your Own Pumpkin sessions run begin on Friday 6 October with sessions also on 7, 8, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 29 October. With the beloved fish & ship shop also open throughout, find out more and secure tickets HERE.

Pumpkin Fest at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm | Clevedon Road, Wraxall, BS48 1 PG

 

Featuring a bumper crop of more than 1,000 pumpkins, Noah’s Ark’s Pumpkin Fest is sure to prove a bright orange themed extravaganza like no other. The pumpkins themselves are grown on site from Elephant dung following the discovery of an unexpected patch a few years ago.

 

From Monday 9 until Tuesday 31 October, families will be able to grab a wheelbarrow and search for orange whoppers of all shapes and sizes as well as enjoy fabulous themed treats at the Food Barn and Farm Shop, an Autumn Top Trumps trail and a whole load of half term activities.
