Always a popular Bristol attraction, this exhibition allows nature lovers to experience these incredible images alongside the museum’s fascinating natural science collections. The event includes the 100 winning photographs out of 49,957 competition entries from photographers of all ages and experience levels from 95 different countries.

The exhibition will also feature a range of soundscapes, videos, and expert insights alongside stunning photography that beautifully captures animal behaviour, spectacular species, and breathtaking diversity within the natural world.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is an annual international wildlife photography competition developed and produced by London’s Natural History Museum. First awarded in 1964, an exhibition of the winning and commended photographs takes place at the museum each year and later tours around the world – one stop being Bristol!

Laurent Ballesta won the Grand Title this year for a second time with an otherworldly capture of golden horseshoe grab in the protected waters surrounding the Pangatalan Island in the Philippines - see below.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2023 exhibition runs at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery from Saturday 21 October 2023 to Sunday 21 April 2024.

Tickets for this exhibition are priced at £10 for adults, £6.50 for concessions (those over 65, NHS staff, unemployed, disabled people and more) and FREE for under 16s and carers – secure your tickets HERE.
