Stunning Peaky Blinders stage adaptation is coming to Bristol next year

Rambert’s thrilling stage adaptation of Steven Knight’s now legendary TV series captures all the drama, thrills and spills of the Peaky story.

 

Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 September 2024.

 

With stunning performances from Rambert’s elegant dancers and the show’s iconic soundtrack from a live onstage band. Long-time fans of Peaky Blinders and new audiences alike will be united in awe of this spectacular stage show. Tickets for this one go on general sale at 10 AM tomorrow – Tuesday 17 October 2023.

Opening in the grim trenches of Flanders, a very personal story unfolds in post-war industrial Birmingham as the Shelby family navigate their own fate while family head Tommy falls head over heels for a mysterious newcomer, Grace.

 

While Tommy and the rest of the Shelbys are building their empire, Grace is operating as an undercover agent for Special Branch, charged with the task of getting close to the heart of Tommy’s gang. As the story unfolds, hearts are broken and revenge is sought.

 

This production, that features spectacular dramatization and breathtaking dance, is brought to life by a live onstage band playing specially commissioned music by Roman GianArthur as well as iconic Peaky Blinders tracks from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Radiohead, Anna Calvi, The Last Shadow Puppets, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and more.

 

With the stage adaption written by series creator Steven Knight with direction and choreography from Rambert’s Artistic Director, Benoit Swan Pouffer. Speaking about the stage adaptation, Knight has said: “Peaky Blinders has always had music and movement at its heart and now the beating heart of the show will be transferred to the stage…”
