Carnifølk return next week for a second season of unique episodic theatre

The second season of ‘Carving’s Carnival’ will once more be hosted biweekly at The Volunteer Tavern, once more transporting audiences to a magical realm through immersive theatre.

 

Carnifølk presents: Carving's Carnival – Season Two begins on Tuesday 3 October and will run every two weeks until Tuesday 12 December 2023.

Located just beyond the walls of Brycgstowe, now known as Bristol, The Volunteer Tavern – or “The Volly” – is a mystical haven within the depths of the forest. Following a stringent crackdown on vagrants, buskers and rebels under the Conservatorium’s new regime, The Volly is a sanctuary – a cultural melting pot where adventurers and outcasts unite.

 

Thriving on its diverse community, ‘The Volly’ uses a forbidden currency known as Niblets, mystical coins valued for the loving energy infused into them by their givers. The coins, strictly banned by the evil Conservatorium, are the lifeblood of this unconventional establishment.

 

Emerging from the sacred oak with a mission of love and joy, comes Cousin Carving, an ancient being seeking to unite his carnival troupe in protest against the oppressive forces, creating a community in the process. Will you join him on his quest?

 

Since it debuted back in May, Carnifølk’s Carving’s Carnival has captured the hearts of a growing community. Season Two promises to continue this progress with the return of beloved characters and some exciting surprises, including a spine-tingling Halloween special on 31 October.

 

Audiences can create their own characters and actively participate in the spectacle or simply sit back and enjoy the theatrics and fantastical universe of Carving’s Carnival!
