With their monthly club nights at The Old Market Assembly fast becoming one of Bristol’s favourites, Bristol Northern Soul Club have expanded their horizons with brand new regular workshops.

 

Taking place between 7 PM and 10 PM every fortnight at Attic Bar Bristol, the new Northern Soul dance practice has already proved a roaring success with the first two session selling out!

The Bristol Northern Soul Club has been running for more than eighteen months, quickly becoming one of the best nights around and reaching the final of the Bristol Life Awards. The gorgeous Old Market Assembly provides the perfect venue for this exciting event with a massive dance floor and balcony as well as smoking area!

 

Event founder Levanna McLean (better known as Northern Soul Girl) has been the face of the scene for the past seven years, crafting this regular event to offer an original Northern Soul club experience right in the heart of Bristol.

 

Every event finds Levanna dancing and DJing throughout the night with other top genre DJs spinning the night away with a blend of classics and rare delights. This is an inclusive club night, offering one and all the opportunity to experience that classic Northern Soul vibe.

 

The brand-new Northern Soul workshop sessions is perfect for those who want to know more about the genre, whether that be the dancing, the records, or the culture. Hosted by the club, dancers will be on hand to share their moves and teach the basics – giving you the space to test your moves.

 

It is very freestyle, with the aim of being fun, laid back and social, a safe space to feel comfortable to learn at your own pace. The number of people throughout Bristol starting to enjoy Northern Soul is growing fast, so why not get involved?
