Cutting their teeth in the early 1960s with a blend of blues rock and jazz fusion, Jethro Tull are a shapeshifting project with a past members list that would rival that of The Fall. Multi-instrumentalist frontman Ian Anderson is the only constant member of the band who are named after an 18th-century agricultural pioneer who invented the seed drill.

By the mid-seventies and already with a much-changed lineup, Anderson had led a sonic shift that saw the band embrace more folk-led melodies and surrealist lyricism. This experimentation proved a worldwide hit and Jethro Tull were soon seen by many as rivalling acts such as Led Zeppelin, Elton John and The Rolling Stones.

Seven decades later, they’ve sold more than 60 million albums worldwide, boast a massive global fanbase and have recorded over 30 studio and live albums…but much remains the same! Ian Anderson still leads a band who have an innate hunger for creativity and experimentation and thrive on wowing audiences with their captivating live performances.

In addition to Bristol, the UK leg of Jethro Tull’s ‘The Seven Decades Tour’ will see them play shows venues in Bournemouth, Birmingham, London, Cambridge, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Gateshead, Sheffield, Manchester, Manchester and Liverpool. Find out more here.
