Emerging from Newport, South-West in the late 1990s following the break-up of frontman Benji Webbe’s previous project, Skindred’s original lineup featured Webbe along with bassist Daniel Pugsley, guitarist Mikey Dee and drummer Dirty Arya.
The band originally released their debut LP, Babylon, in 2002, however, after a somewhat subdued initial reaction, it was re-released by distinguished label Lava Records in 2004. This new version saw widespread success, topping the Billboard reggae charts and appearing high up the UK metal charts.
Since their astonishing breakthrough in the early 2000s, Skindred have garnered a dedicated worldwide following with records such as Volume in 2015 and Big Tings in 2018 ensuring the band regularly sell out massive venues all over the world.
With a fearsome back catalogue that features blistering tracks including ‘Nobody’, ‘That’s My Jam’, ‘Kill The Power’ and recent single ‘Gimme That Boom’, the group aren’t showing any signs of relenting.
Skindred’s ‘The Smile Tour’ is already selling fast with multiple sold out dates in a tour that will see them drop by venues in Northampton, Leeds, Cambridge, Norwich, Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Brighton, Sheffield, Lincoln, Cardiff, Southampton, Belfast, Dublin as well as Bristol.
