Cast announced for smash-hit musical Wicked at The Bristol Hippodrome

Carl Man as ‘Fiyero’ and Laura Pick as ‘Elphaba’ lead an immensely talented cast on a massive tour of the UK and Ireland that is set to fly into Bristol early next year.

 

Wicked will run at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 23 January until Sunday 25 February 2024.

 

Known as “one of the most successful musicals of all time”, the brand-new Wicked tour will reunite Man and Pick, two former West End cast members, along with over 100 people on-stage and behind-the-scenes workers to deliver each performance of this award-winning touring production.

This West End and Broadway musical phenomenon tells the untold magical tale of the Witches of Oz. From Stephen Schwarz and Winnie Holzman, Wicked is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, imagining an enchanting backstory to L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

 

The musical reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely university comrades on their journey to become the iconic witches ‘Glinda The Good’ and ‘The Wicked Witch of The West’. 

 

Since its Broadway premiere in 2003 (making this year its thirtieth anniversary), Wicked has been seen by almost 65 million theatre lovers worldwide, winning 100 major international awards in the process including three Tony Awards, six Drama Desk Awards, two Olivier Awards and much more. 

 

Joining the already announced Wicked veteran Laura Pick who will play Elphaba is Carl Man (& Juliet, Wicked, Proud, Starlight Express, We Will Rock You, Disney’s Aladdin) as Fiyero. Speaking about the role, Man has said: 

 

“When I first got to play ‘Fiyero’ in the West End, it was opposite Laura Pick, so I’m incredibly excited to be reuniting with Laura, and with this phenomenal show. To be given the opportunity to play Fiyero at ten of the UK & Ireland’s most prestigious theatres is a great honour and I can’t wait to get started.”

The UK and Ireland tour of Wicked kicks off this Christmas in Edinburgh before continuing to Bristol, Birmingham, Bradford, Southampton, Liverpool, Dublin, Sunderland, Cardiff and Manchester. Find out more here.
