2000s indie rockers The Pigeon Detectives to play Bristol twice this year

With their first album in six years set to be released in July, the energetic five-piece are back to their best touring all over the UK.

 

The Pigeon Detectives will play a live + signing at Rough Trade Bristol on Monday 10 July and SXW on Saturday 11 November 2023.

 

Prior to embarking on a tour of prominent UK venues in November, the Leeds outfit will drop by Rough Trade Bristol for a special record signing and intimate show to celebrate the release of their upcoming sixth album, TV Show.

 

 

The Pigeon Detectives consist of five childhood friends from Leeds. Vocalist Matt Bowman, guitarists Oliver Main and Ryan Wilson, bassist Dave Best and drummer Jimmi Naylor formed the group in 2002, quickly gaining renown for their raucous, swaggering brand of indie rock.

 

Their early output garnered the attention of various UK indie titans and The Pigeon Detectives quickly found themselves supporting the likes of Carl Barat’s Dirty Pretty Things and The Kaiser Chiefs on tour their 2006 single ‘I Found Out’ eventually reached number one in the indie charts following championing from the likes of Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe.

 

Since then, the group have released five albums with their sixth, TV Show, set for release on Friday 7 July 2023. The band have also played at prestigious festivals all over the world and shared a stage with the likes of The Strokes, Pulp, James and many more

 

As well as Bristol, The Pigeon Detective’s November 2023 UK tour will see them play venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Portsmouth, London, Birmingham, Norwich, Cambridge, Middlesbrough, and Sheffield. Visit the band’s website for more information.
