Indie pop hitmakers Scouting For Girls will be in Bristol this November

With an impressive roster of indie anthems under their belt, it’s sure to prove a raucous affair when the 2000s mainstays come rolling into town.

 

Scouting For Girls will play O2 Academy Bristol on Tuesday 14 November 2023.

 

2023 is set to be a big year for the witty London trio with a brand-new album, The Place We Used To Meet, set to be released in October, a run of arena dates supporting Olly Murs throughout Spring and a massive Headline tour in the Winter. Tickets for this show go on sale next Friday 21 April.

Known for feel-good indie pop bangers such as ‘She’s So Lovely’, ‘This Ain’t A Love Song’ and ‘Heartbeat’, Scouting For Girls stormed to phenomenal success in the 2000s; recording four Top 10 singles, four Top 10 Albums, 2 million sales and over 1 billion streams as well as four BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello.

 

Following a four-year break, the three-piece have announced the release of their seventh studio album The Place We Used To Meet in October. Scouting For Girls returned to their West London roots with the catchy, life-affirming, singalong indie-pop with which they made their name, with lyricism exploring stories of longing and loss.

 

Speaking about the record, frontman Roy Stride has said: “As the name suggests, it’s an album about going back to our roots and starting again. Falling back in love with music. Loving every aspect of the process: the recording, the writing, playing live and, most importantly, just hanging out as friends. 

 

“There was no great plan, no overthinking beyond just writing and recording the best songs that we could. Heartbreaking, anthemic, fun and pop, indie and serious, anything went as long as we loved it. It’s the best collection of songs we’ve ever had, and I’ve loved every minute of making it.”

 

As well as Bristol, Scouting For Girls’ The Place We Used To Meet tour will see the band drop by venues in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, York, Newcastle, Reading, Brighton, Nottingham, Cambridge, Exeter, Leicester, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Northampton, Norwich, Guildford, Bournemouth and London.
