The Specials Ltd and a Sex Pistols tribute are joining forces at the end of the month for a very special Bank Holiday matinee show.

The Fleece’s Bank Holiday Special with The Specials Ltd and The Sex Bristols will take place from 3 PM on Sunday 30 April 2023.

With early doors and a bumper afternoon and evening of music, music lovers will be able to celebrate the Early May Bank Holiday in style at The Fleece – one of Bristol’s most legendary and long-lasting venues.

Tickets for this special event are available now and can be purchased HERE.

When the original lineup of legendary ska band The Specials broke up in 1981, they left behind a gaping hole that has not been filled by a band ever since. The group were pivotal in promoting the anti-racism movement, combining punk, ska and reggae while lyrically commenting on the state of Britain in the late 70s and early 80s.

The band formed their own ‘2-Tone’ record label which gave a launch pad to groups including Madness and Bad Manners while being fundamental to the introduction of The Beat and Bad Manners, thus creating a musical heritage which has lived on for decades.

The Specials reformed for a 30th Anniversary Tour back in 2009 and have played a number of high-profile shows since then, creating a buzz of excitement for both old and new waves of music fans worldwide. In December last year, the band’s frontman and iconic British pop culture figure Terry Hall sadly passed away.

Paying tribute to the legendary Coventry outfit, The Specials Ltd recreate the passion and enthusiasm of the Specials from 1979 to the 30th Anniversary Tour, bringing back memories of those who were there the first time around and showing younger fans what they missed.

Featuring members of 2Rude, the veteran ska group often seen as one of the best UK tribute acts and former live collaborators with original Specials guitarist Roddy Radiation, The Specials Ltd are a 9-piece full of energy, excitement and precision.

Fans can expect Specials favourites including ‘Gangsters’, ‘Too Much Too Young’ and ‘Ghost Town’ from the golden era of 1979-1981 as well as some real guitar-based energy from local punk rock covers band The Sex Bristols.

The Fleece’s Bank Holiday Matinee Special with The Specials Ltd and The Sex Bristols will take place from 3 PM on Sunday 30 April 2023. Secure your tickets HERE.
