Legendary rock outfit The Sisters of Mercy have recently announced a run of high-profile dates in September and November, a tour that is sure to prove a hit all over the country.

The Sisters of Mercy will play Marble Factory, Bristol on Wednesday 15 November 2023.

Certified goth rock giants, the four piece are synonymous with the alternative music scene in the 1980s and, despite numerous lineup changes over the years, are still a live music force to be reckoned with. Tickets go on sale this Friday 14 April at 10 AM.

Formed in Leeds in 1980, The Sisters of Mercy were founded by deep-voiced frontman Andrew Eldritch and guitarist Gary Marx. According to whatever myth you choose to believe, the band either got its name from an order of Catholic nuns or the Leonard Cohen song of the same name.

The band’s slow, gloomy, ponderous hybrid of metal and psychedelia saw them become an instant critical success with the release of their 1985 debut album First and Last and Always which included their hit single ‘This Corrosion’.

Over the years, the group’s lineup and approach to their craft have changed frequently, with Eldritch being the only constant member. In more recent times, the frontman has focused on other projects and the band have not released an album since the 90s making their live sets are rare occasions not to be missed.

As well as Bristol’s Marble Factory, The Sisters of Mercy will play venues in London, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester and Glasgow throughout September and November. Find out more on the band’s website.
