Bristol-based fashion brand tackles sustainability & mental health

Posted on: 07 Apr 2023

If you’re looking for fresh threads and a good cause, you might want to check out Seams& - a Bristol-based clothing brand for young men that's shaking things up in the fashion world.

The fashion industry is one of the biggest impacts on our climate right now, with 10% of global emissions estimated to come from the fashion industry every year – that can make it hard to keep in style without feeling like you’re destroying the planet: Enter Seams&.

Seams& is a Bristol-based brand focused on helping young people move away from fast fashion and the pressure to fit in. Their products are carefully designed and made to last, so they're a good fit in terms of quality and sizing – and don’t cost the earth.

Launched in 2022, the brand was founded by Suhale Vorajee, who experienced first-hand the mental health struggles many young people face, especially when it came to body image, self-esteem, and self-worth. Alongside his son, he wanted to create a clothing brand specifically aimed at young men, which helps to tackle these issues as well as create a more timeless, sustainable approach to fashion.

That makes Seams& more than just a fashion brand. It's about making young people feel confident and included. The brand also partners with Young Minds, the UK's leading charity fighting for children and young people's mental health, and donates 5% of all profits to support their work.

Vorajee explains: "We're living in a time where individuality is celebrated and we want to feel proud of who we are. But it can be tough for young people to express themselves and make a difference with the choices they make. That's why Seams& exists. We're a national brand, but we're proud to be based right here in Bristol."

Seams&'s debut collection, Seams&YourCity, dropped in April last year and was inspired by cities across the UK, including Bristol, of course. So if you're looking for some stylish new clothes that are made to last, support a great cause, and are Bristol-based to boot, then Seams& is definitely worth checking out.
