Tickets remaining for intimate Bristol show with Eurovision runner-up

Posted on: 07 Dec 2022

Earlier this year, Sam Ryder wowed UK Eurovision fans by finishing runner-up in the 2022 edition of the competition, this weekend the singer-songwriter is coming to Bristol.

Sam Ryder will play Bristol’s SWX on Sunday 11 December.

Presented by Rough Trade as part of their Outstore series, Ryder’s intimate SWX appearance comes as part of a series of unique shows all over the UK to celebrate the release of the artist’s debut album There’s Nothing But Space, Man!, out later this week.

Tickets for the show can be found HERE.

Ryder, an Essex native, originally began working in the music industry in the late 2000s as a session musician for various groups. However, it was not until he went viral in 2019 with a cover of the 90s hit ‘Set You Free’ by N-Trance that he gained any solo acclaim.

The singer-songwriter continued to be a viral success thanks to a series of pop covers posted on TikTok during lockdown. By late 2020, Ryder had the biggest following of any music artist on the platform, a feat that saw him sign a recording contract with the legendary label Parlophone.

The next year, Ryder released his major label debut, an EP titled The Sun’s Gonna Rise. In early 2022, the BBC announced the selection of the singer-songwriter as the UK representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

In May, Ryder’s ‘Space Man’ proved the most successful UK Eurovision entry since Imaani back in 1998, proving that it isn’t that the rest of Europe doesn’t despise the UK (although this may be the case), it’s just that we’ve failed to deliver a decent song in over 20 years.

Since this high-profile success, Ryder has been on the campaign trail, promoting his forthcoming album There’s Nothing But Space, Man! – set for release on Friday 9 December. In recent weeks, he has performed on the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing as well as wowing shoppers with a guerrilla gig in the middle of Broadmead – see below.

Sam Ryder will head to Bristol to perform an intimate show at SWX this Sunday, 11 December. Tickets for the gig can be found HERE.
