The Bristolian comic, known for his boyish charm and lively wisecracks, is set to bring his critically acclaimed show 'Respite' to town next year in what looks set to be a riotous homecoming.

Russell Howard's Respite tour is set for a run at Bristol Hippodrome from Wednesday 19 and Sunday 23 April 2023.

Tickets for the five-night long stint are yet to be released but the April shows a sure to prove immensely popular with the local comedic hero's 'Respite' tour gaining rave reviews over the past four years of touring, a run that has seen Howard visit 3 continents and a staggering 178 shows.

Tickets for all of the shows will go on sale at 10AM Friday morning, visit the ATG website to get yours.

A staple on popular comedy television panel shows such as Mock The Week, 8 out of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You in the early years of his career, Howard is a comedian who has seen a meteoric rise for the better part of the last ten years.

Howard quickly landed his own prime-time BBC show, Russell Howard's Good News, which proved to be a roaring success. The show propelled the now 42-year-old to household name status and led on to further prosperous ventures such as The Russell Howard Hour and his own Netflix special, Recalibrate.

Having grown up in Bristol and studied at the University of the West of England, Howard holds a special place in the hearts of many Bristolians and, in July 2021, the comedian performed his show 'Respite' to an excited crowd at Ashton Gate Stadium.

'Respite' faced numerous covid-related hurdles before taking the world by storm, reeling in rave reviews and covering everything from the pandemic, to politics, to anal fissures. Having officially finished the tour in August, Howard did hint at the upcoming announcement of more shows (see below) and Bristol has proved to be one destination.

Russel Howard will be at Bristol Hippodrome on Wednesday 19, Thursday 20, Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April 2023 for a five night run of shows.

Tickets go on sale this Friday 7 October, head to the ATG website to secure yours.
