Nana Mensah’s ‘Queen of Glory’ (2021) is a charming comedy about a Ghanaian-American woman's life that is thrown into disarray when she inherits her mother's Christian bookshop.
Finding herself back in her childhood home of the Bronx trying to arrange a funeral for her mother and get rid of her bookshop, she begins to re-evaluate her life whilst regaining a connection to her culture.
Multi-faceted talent Nana Mensah writes, directs and stars in this movie - A heartfelt story of grief, belonging, and self-discovery that breathes new life into the tropes of millennial comedy.
‘Queen of Glory’ will be screened from Friday 26 August until Sunday 4 September 2022 at Watershed, but a special showing will take place on Saturday 27 August.
After the 17:20 screening, a Q+A with Mensah herself and members of the film’s crew will take place, giving you, the audience, a rare and special window into this story and the movie’s production.
