Explore a curation of intriguing and varied artworks this summer.

Sound of the Earth Exhibition, a new collection of artworks created by Bristol Refugee Artists Collective will open at Royal West of England Academy next month.

Beginning on Tuesday 9 August, the exhibition will run until Sunday 11 September at the BS8 gallery and will be FREE for all to enter.

Visit RWA's website for more details and to explore other exhibitions they have on offer this summer.

The exhibition bills itself as a look 'at creative perspectives on the theme of earth from the artists' life experiences coming from different lands. There are many common stories, but each also has a unique, strong and colourful message'.

All artworks have been created by Bristol Refugee Artists Collective - a group of refugee artists living in Bristol - following a year-long partnership with RWA.

In 2021, the BRAC artists undertook exciting creative professional development workshops with guest artists on painting, photography, poetry, sculpture, calligraphy, curation and critiquing to hone their talent.

Sound of the Earth Exhibition, commissioned by RWA, is the culmination of this process. Using a variety of styles, the artists involved have created a diverse and intriguing selection of artworks for the public to view.

Bristol's first art gallery (erected in 1844), RWA aims to bring world-class visual art from around the world to the South West. This exhibition will take place alongside a plethora of others that visitors will also be able to enjoy.
