With her sophomore album set to be released this Friday, the Bristol singer-songwriter is heading on a lengthy UK tour later this year – beginning at the Trinity Centre.

Katy J Pearson will be kicking off her tour in her hometown on Thursday 8 September.

Following on from the immense critical success of her debut record Return, Pearson is gearing up for the release of follow-up Sound Of The Morning, set to be released on Friday 8 July.

2020 proved a special year for Pearson with her fresh, country-tinged debut album, Return, creating a real buzz within the UK’s alternative music scene. Quickly, Pearson ascended from a rising star to a true indie favourite – becoming a staple on festival lineups all over the country.

Since then, the 26-year-old has sold out a multitude of prestigious venues as well as enjoying support slots with the likes of Cass McCombs, BC Camplight and First Aid Kit at Lloyd’s Amphitheatre.

Following on from this meteoric rise, Pearson will release her second album Sound Of The Morning this Friday (8 July) and has already released a slew of exciting singles as well as an astonishing music video featuring renowned actor Paul McGann.

The record will be released on prominent indie label Heavenly Records and is co-produced by Speedy Wunderground boss Dan Carey (Fontaines D.C., Squid, Grimes, Black Midi, Kae Tempest etc) – promising signs for any record.

The record is set to see Pearson exploring pushing herself musically and lyrically. While still maintaining the singer’s well-loved threads of country and folk, Sound of The Morning signals a new chapter for one of Bristol music’s most exciting acts – dabbling in darker themes, krautrock, and 'The Wicker Man'.

As well as Trinity Centre, Pearson will visit venues in Falmouth, Exeter (sold out), Southampton, Brighton, Margate, London, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Cardiff, Birmingham and Oxford as part of her tour. More information can be found here.

The singer-songwriter will also play in Bristol twice on her in-store live shows + signings tour that kicks off tomorrow. On Friday 8 July (the release date for Sound Of The Morning) Pearson will play a full band show at Rough Trade Bristol before playing a stripped-back gig at Friendly Records on Thursday 14 July.
