Bristol Rovers to host #HerGameToo friendly fixture at The Memorial Stadium

Bristol Rovers Women will take on Forest Green Rovers Ladies to raise awareness of the nationwide campaign.

Bristol Rovers will be celebrating the #HerGameToo campaign with a double-header at The Memorial Stadium this Saturday 23 April, hosting a friendly fixture between Bristol Rovers Women and Forest Green Rovers Ladies straight after a league match between the two clubs' men's sides.

Tickets holders for the men's first-team match, kicking off at 15:00, will gain entry to the women's match, which kicks off at 18:45, while spectators who wish to attend the women's match only can register here for FREE tickets.

A #HerGameToo stand will be up and running in the Memorial Stadium fan zone throughout the day, with live entertainment and activities on offer from 17:00, ahead of the women's kick-off.

Driven by a wave of abuse directed at female supporters both on the terraces and across social media platforms, #HerGameToo has been set up to promote equality and inclusivity at all levels of English football.

The group are working to eradicate sexism in football, and hope that one day women and girls of all ages can feel confident and safe sharing their thoughts and opinions on the sport in both real-life and online spaces.

Bristol Rovers have worked closely with #HerGameToo since its launch in 2021, partnering with the campaign on a special-edition Bristol Rovers Women away shirt for the 2021/22 season.

The East, North and West stands at The Memorial Stadium will be open for spectators at this weekend's Bristol Rovers Women friendly, and all seating will be unreserved.

In the spirit of the occasion, all spectators are asked to contribute to a positive environment and respect players, staff and fellow attendees throughout the evening.

Fans will have an opportunity to meet the players after the game, and any grassroots girls' clubs interested in being a part of the event are encouraged to get in touch with the club via email.

Find out more and register for free tickets to the evening match via the Bristol Rovers website.
