All proceeds from the shirt's sales will be reinvested back into local girls' football projects.

Bristol Rovers Women, in partnership with the Bristol Rovers Community Trust, have officially unveiled a special edition 2021/22 away shirt featuring front sponsorship from the nationwide #HerGameToo campaign.

Founded by 12 passionate female football fans, #HerGameToo aims to foster a positive, welcoming and respectful atmosphere for women and girls attending matches up and down the country.

The striking grey-and-fluorescent-green shirt is now available to purchase here, with all profits to be reinvested into girls' football teams and footballing projects in the local area.

Driven by a wave of abuse directed at female supporters both on the terraces and across social media platforms, #HerGameToo has been set up to promote equality and inclusivity at all levels of English football.

The group are working to eradicate sexism in football, and hope that one day women and girls of all ages can feel confident and safe sharing their thoughts and opinions on the sport in both real-life and online spaces.

Speaking on the Gas Girls kit launch, #HerGameToo co-founder and Bristol Rovers fan, Charis May, said:

“Bristol Rovers Community Trust are continuously doing our football club proud with their efforts within the community and for the development of Bristol Rovers Women's FC.

“Adam & Matt offering the front of the shirt sponsorship to #HerGameToo within a matter of days of the campaign launch is an incredibly heart-warming gesture and something I will be forever grateful for.

“We are thankful to the Gas Girls, the Trust and anyone else who helps us in spreading the message of #HerGameToo as we look forward to building a better future for females in the game.”

This season's release follows closely in the footsteps of Rovers Women's 2020/21 Bristol Pride away shirt, which gained nationwide recognition upon its release and was eventually inducted into the UK's National Football Museum.

Announcing this season's sponsorship, Bristol Rovers Community Trust CEO, Adam Tutton, said: “We are thrilled to have been able to offer the #HerGameToo campaign the front of shirt sponsorship on our new kit.

“After witnessing the regular online abuse targeted at female football fans across the country, I felt it is vital that as the Club’s official charity we aim to foster an ethos in football, in which women are welcomed and respected equally.”

The 2021/22 Bristol Rovers Women away kit is available to purchase here. For more information on Bristol Rovers Women or the Bristol Rovers Community Trust, head to the club's website.
