Jose Gonzalez to return to Bristol as part of 2021/22 world tour

Posted on: 01 Feb 2022

The esteemed artist's last Bristol performance was a 2018 sell-out at the O2 Academy.

World-renowned singer-songwriter José González is set to return to Bristol for the first time more than three years this Spring, performing at The Marble Factory on Tuesday 26 April in support of his latest album, Local Valley.

González will appear at The Marble Factory as part of the venue's busy 2022 live programme, which will also feature performances from The Drums, Kae Tempest and Groove Armada over the coming months.

Tickets for José González live at The Marble Factory are on sale now and can be found here.

Born in Sweden to Argentinian parents, José González spans Latin folk, indie-pop and acoustic influences to form a rich, emotive sound.

González has released four full-length albums to date, securing a UK Top Ten position in 2005 with his debut, Veneer, before consolidating his style with 2007's In Our Nature and his third project, Vestiges & Claws.

As part of a four-date run in the UK, he'll be returning to Bristol for what promises to be an unforgettable performance at The Marble Factory in April.

González endeared himself to fans across the Westcountry with his acclaimed cover of Massive Attack's 'Teardrop', closing a sell-out show at Bristol's O2 Academy with a live rendition of the track in 2018.

Alongside their club programming, Motion have put together a vibrant live lineup for their sister venue, The Marble Factory, in 2022.

Locals can expect a broad spectrum of acts spanning a range of genres, from contemporary jazz outfit Nubiyan Twist to Wu-Tang Clan originator GZA, British indie-rockers The Cribs, breakout UK rapper M Huncho and many more.

Head to the Motion website to find out more and book your tickets for selected shows, or find the venue on Facebook for more announcements throughout the year.
