BCfm will open their studio to the public this bank holiday
Posted on: 18 Aug 2021The station are opening their doors to aspiring presenters, newsreaders, podcasters and more to help reconnect with the local community post-lockdown.
BCfm will host an open day this coming bank holiday, Monday 30 August, to detail a range of exciting upcoming opportunities with the station and give local talent and the general public the chance to get on the airwaves.
Speaking about the event, Station Manager Patrick Hart said: “coming out of difficult times, there is a lot pent up talent and creativity from across the city ready to be shared. It is also important for us to reconnect with our diverse listeners and audiences.”
Since its founding, BCfm has grown to attract over 60,000 listeners per week with over 70 different shows broadcast 24/7. The station strives to represent all of the city's communities, hosting shows in Polish, Somali and Spanish as well as English.

The community-based station promotes social cohesion and well-being by providing an engaging and challenging radio experience, and uses a mix of talk and music shows to inform, educate and entertain diverse and under-represented target audiences.
The open day, held at BCfm's Easton-based studios, is supported by the Eastside Community Trust through their Community Event Fund.
CEO Stacy Yelland said: “Eastside Community Trust hope the BCfm Open Day and other events we are supporting will encourage people to come together again to break the isolation and loneliness felt by many during the pandemic.”
