Lionel Richie's Bristol show has been relocated to Longleat CANCELLED

Posted on: 05 May 2021

The world-renowned singer-songwriter was due to perform live at the Lloyds Amphitheatre next summer.

An eagerly-anticipated Bristol performance from iconic vocalist Lionel Richie has been relocated to Longleat, organisers have confirmed.

Initially due to take place at the Lloyds Amphitheatre in BS1 this summer, the show had already been rescheduled to next year due to safety concerns relating to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Tickets purchased for both the original and rescheduled Bristol dates remain valid for the relocated show, which will now take place at Longleat on Wednesday 15 June 2022.

Remaining tickets go on sale at 10:00 this Friday 7 May and can be found here.

Winner of several Grammys, a Golden Globe, an Oscar and an array of other accolades, Lionel Richie is undoubtedly one of the most successful musicians of all time, selling well over 100 million albums internationally during an illustrious career.

Having first found fame writing and performing with The Commodores in the 1970s, Richie went on to become one of the world's best-loved artists after he went solo, earning a string of Number One singles such as 'Endless Love', 'Truly' and 'Say You (Say Me)'.

Since his self-titled solo debut in 1982, the singer has released nine full-length studio albums, scoring Number Ones in the US, the UK and around the world and featuring hit tracks like 'All Night Long', 'Hello' and 'Dancing on the Ceiling'.

Announcing the postponement of his Summer 2021 dates across his social media channels back in March, Richie said:

"I was originally scheduled to bring my ‘Hello’ Tour to the UK and Europe in the Summer of 2020, but for the health and safety of all, with the world in lockdown, the live music industry was forced to reschedule their 2020 tour dates.

"It was everyone’s intention for those dates to take place in the summer of 2021 and although we have made great progress towards a return to normal, it seems that we aren’t quite there yet.

"Please remember to stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all in 2022."

Attendees and ticket holders are reminded that all tickets purchased for Lionel Richie's original Bristol performance in June 2021, and the rescheduled date in June 2022, remain valid for the relocated performance at Longleat.

Refund options will be available for those unable to attend the new location, with ticket holders set to be contacted via email in the coming days. Click here to find out more or book your tickets when they return to general sale on Friday 7 May.
