Pressure Dome release new compilation to raise money for two local charities

Posted on: 29 Mar 2021

All proceeds from PDCOMP003 will go to Caring in Bristol and Community Care Package.

Bristol-based record label Pressure Dome have released their latest charity compilation, PDCOMP003, available as a digital download on a pay-what-you-like basis.

All profits will be split between fresh fruit and veg box project Community Care Package and homelessness charity Caring in Bristol as both organisations continue to offer vital support to people in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

Showcasing a selection of emerging local artists, PDCOMP003 explores a mix of dancehall sonics, tougher club-ready cuts and creative electronica to offer another on-the-pulse foray into Bristol's dance music scene.

Already a staple of Bristol's electronic community, Pressure Dome have featured an array of exciting up-and-coming artists across six releases, including Syz, Balouu and Mulengasound.

We spoke to label boss Jen Hartley - otherwise known by her producer alias Yushh - back in 2019 as part of the first issue of LOUD Magazine, when the team were gearing up for their debut release, Welcome to the Pressure Dome.

Now, outlining their motivations for the charity release, Pressure Dome explain that they want to "give back to the city we live in, one that inspires so much creativity in those fortunate enough to access opportunity."

The primary beneficiary of the release of PDCOMP003 will be Community Care Package, a project dedicated to providing vulnerable people across Bristol with free fresh fruit and veg deliveries.

Launched last year by a group of volunteers from community organisations and temporarily-closed pubs and venues, Community Care Package has delivered more than 20,000 fruit and veg boxes across the city so far.

Representatives from The Plough Inn, The Pipe & Slippers, The Lion and The Star & Garter, as well as a selection of community groups, have been working together to help more than 5,000 people through the pandemic.

Pressure Dome will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to Caring in Bristol, who themselves have been working tirelessly to support homeless people and rough sleepers during the coronavirus crisis.

Launched in April 2020, the charity's Cheers Drive initiative has prepared and distributed well over 150,000 nutritious meals, completely free of charge, to people in need.
