The Seamus O'Donnell's BIG Quiz has gone back online during lockdown

Posted on: 11 Nov 2020

Join Bristol's favourite Irish pub for a tricky virtual quiz.

Renowned St Nick's pub Seamus O'Donnell's are continuing their popular pub quizzes throughout lockdown, broadcasting The BIG Quiz live via Youtube and Facebook every Wednesday night.

Hosted by Seamus O'Donnell's co-owner Chris Odiorne, the quiz has been running for just over six months, providing some welcome light relief during the initial lockdown and throughout a difficult year.

There are no physical prizes for this one, but the pride you'll get from coming out on top against another unnamed, invisible opponent should be all the motivation you need.

To book your spot in The BIG Quiz, with the next edition taking place at 20:00 tonight (Wednesday 11 November), message the pub via Facebook.

Having tentatively reopened in July after the initial UK lockdown was lifted, Seamus O'Donnell's have had to adapt quickly to ensure the safety of visitors and staff in 2020.

The pub, usually a hotbed of live music, busy pub quizzes and late-night singalongs, has had to dial things down during the coronavirus crisis, but the team have maintained its inviting atmosphere despite the challenges.

Owners Chris and Paul launched a crowdfunding campaign through the summer to secure the pub's future, raising just under £3,000 to cover a portion of their rent payments.

With Seamus O'Donnell's now temporarily closed one more due to the current lockdown, the team are continuing with the popular pub quiz series to keep spirits up until they're able to welcome people back through the doors.
