Co-working start-up Distil are injecting a bit of class into life at the pub.

Popular Bristol pub The Rummer has recently been given a new lease of life, with Distil Co-working setting up shop on its first floor, offering Bristol freelancers the chance to work in a unique, contemporary environment.

A local start-up, Distil are bringing innovation to St Nick's Market by experimenting with the concept of hot-desking, aiming to utilise under-used spaces across Bristol city centre.

Having set up in August, Distil's new co-working space within The Rummer offers hot-desks during the daytime as part of a modern, stylish alternative to its competitors.

Constructed in 1741 by aptly-named architect John Wood, The Rummer is an integral part of Bristol's Old City and one of BS1's best-loved pubs.

Popularised by some of England's most famous wordsmiths, the pub is emerging as a place of inspiration for a new generation of writers, freelancers and creatives.

Facilities at the new Distil co-working space include 500mbps fibre connection, ergonomic seats at every desk as standard, complimentary fruit, tea and coffee and inclusive drinks at The Rummer as part of the membership package.

With the bar currently closed due to the coronavirus crisis, Distil is a quiet haven for those unable to work at home effectively.
