Enjoy heartwarming Japanese cuisine at one of Bristol's best-loved pubs.

Tsukemono have returned to The Volunteer Tavern for another eagerly-anticipated kitchen takeover, serving up a mouth-watering range of Japanese dishes to fend off the Autumn blues at the popular BS1 pub.

Tsukemono, roughly translated to 'pickled things', make use of a wide range of ingredients and Japanese influences in their food, creating delicious signature dishes served, in trademark style, with a selection of pickles.

With Tsukemono ready to take up a residency at The Volunteer Tavern from tomorrow (Tuesday 6 October) onwards, tables are available every week from Tuesday-Saturday and can be booked over the phone on 0117 955 8498.

Dishes from Tsukemono.

Masters of pop-up restaurant service, the Tsukemono team have been honing their craft and perfecting their dishes since starting out as a street food stall in 2017.

In just over three years they've covered everything from markets and food festivals to weddings and corporate events, as well as taking over bars and kitchens all over Bristol.

Aiming to showcase "a world of Japanese food beyond sushi and ramen", Tsukemono pride themselves on offering up vibrant flavour profiles and using age-old techniques and super-fresh ingredients on their menu.

From authentic Okonomiyaki to Japanese Fried Chicken and a South Korean Brisket Don, the chefs at Tsukemono are in the business of introducing hearty, far-Eastern cooking to hungry Bristolians.

Tables are available to book from Tuesday 6 October onwards, with the kitchen open from 17:00-20:30 Tuesday-Friday and 12:00-20:00 on Saturdays.

For more information, or to book your table, head to the Volunteer Tavern Facebook page or call 0117 955 8498.
