Matilda The Musical is a winner of over 100 global awards, including 24 for Best Musical. The unique and unforgettable - as described by Rolling Stone - global phenomenon has now delighted over 12 million audiences worldwide.

In celebration of 15 years on stage since opening at the Courtyard Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, and following performances in 100 cities across 17 countries worldwide, Matilda now returns for a UK tour with The Bristol Hippodrome set for almost 4 weeks of shows. Performances are held at 7.30pm Tuesday through Saturday each week with additional matinee shows at 2.30pm every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.

Based on the classic Roald Dahl story with the book by Dennis Kelly, music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and directed by Matthew Warchus, Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. It features flashing lights, lasers and loud sound effects. as well as latex balloons popped onstage and stage haze (smoke) is used. Throughout the performance actors interact in audience spaces so it' a great experience whether young or old however the production is not suitable for children under 6 years of age. Children under 4 years of age (including babes in arms) will not be admitted into the auditorium.

Children need to occupy their own seats at all times throughout the performance. To help us make sure everyone enjoys the show, your little ones need to be able to sit in their own seat without any assistance.
