Pretty Woman comes to Bristol – what a success! We all had high hopes since hearing of its 5-star run at the Savoy, and it’s safe to say, the show knows how to travel well. The set design was effective & reminiscent of many of the iconic movie scenes, and the costume design just screamed 80s fashion.

The premise of the film itself, translated to the stage well. The storyline kept true to the film, and the musical numbers felt well-placed and timed throughout. And for the die-hard fans out there… Yes, they worked in all our favourite quips & quotes that Pretty Woman is oh so well known for.

And on the note of well-known scenes. We really can’t leave a review and not talk about our favourite of all… the opera that changed Vivian’s life. Their rendition of “La Traviata” was just mesmerizing. So unexpected and yet so hypnotic – to have a rendition of the opera, live, really pulled together its impact on Vivian even more so than in the film.

As for the cast. Amber Davies knows how to blow away an audience. Strong, emotional, vulnerable, and resilient all at the same time. Her rendition of 'I Can’t Go Back' was a real highlight of the evening. Don’t miss the opportunity to see her as the leading lady if you get the chance!

Last but definitely not least, we had the absolute pleasure of watching Natalie Paris take on the role of Kit De Luca. To see an ex-queen (We’re big fans) rock such a different look in all its glory was spectacular. Having seen her back in London with the original cast of SIX, we were particularly excited to see her back on the big stage. These two stars had an amazing chemistry on stage that brought a level of sisterhood to Pretty Woman, far exceeding that of the motion picture.

Pretty Woman runs at The Bristol Hippodrome until Saturday 11 November 2023 with tickets available to purchase HERE.
