A real ‘Jackass’ is coming to Bristol for a Q&A event this weekend

Posted on: 23 Apr 2024

The Jackass-starring skateboarder and stuntman (and founder of CKY) Bam Margera is coming to Bristol’s Thekla this Friday for a Q&A session.

Bam Margera is a stuntman, former skateboarder, filmmaker – and personality known for, among others, projects like CKY and – of course – Jackass.

Margera first rose to underground prominence for his part in the CKY series, which functions as something of a manifesto for his later work – incorporating skateboarding, pranks and stunts. After CKY was noticed by producer Jeff Tremaine, Margera and the precedent set by CKY were both at the heart of what would become MTV’s Jackass.

Jackass, of course, is a legendary stunt and prank series whose cultural impact is felt through to this day, especially since the recent release of Jackass Forever in 2022. Bam Margera is an intergral part of Jackass’ crew, arguably second only to Johnny Knoxville himself.

Bam Margera is also known for plenty of other ventures, from his time as professional skateboarder (which led, in turn, to appearances throughout the beloved Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater videogame series), to his appearances throughout film and television – mostly as himself, but with notable acting roles in comedy films and series. On top of his acting roles, he’s also written and directed some of the films he’s appeared in, such as 2003’s Haggard, and its sequel Minghags (2009).

Now, Bam is undertaking a tour that will see him visit Bristol’s Thekla (which is 40 years old next month) for a special Q&A session that, knowing Margera, will likely be no-holds-barred. This is a special opportunity to get an insight into what goes on in the wild mind of Bam Margera – not something to be missed.

If you’re interested, Bam Margera’s live Q&A is happening on Friday 26 April – this weekend. For tickets, head to Thekla’s website now.
