The former Countdown star will tell the inspiring story of her journey from television’s mental arithmetic queen to political activist.

 

Carol Vorderman’s ‘Out of Order’ will hit Bristol Old Vic on Sunday 15 September 2024.

An immensely popular UK media personality, Carol Vorderman is best known as a star of hit gameshow Countdown, which she co-hosted for 26 years. Highly regarded for her razor-sharp mind and scientific, engineering, and mathematical capabilities, she was the first woman to appear on Channel 4 at just 21.

 

She is also a TV regular elsewhere, appearing in such shows as Better Homes, The Pride of Britain Awards, Have I Got News For You and Loose Women – which she anchored between 2011 and 2014. She is also journalist, best-selling author and, in recent times, has become a keen political activist, critical of the Conservative government.

 

‘Out of Order’ is a rousing and interactive stage show that will see Vorderman demonstrate just how much ‘an old bird with an iPhone’ can achieve and inspires us all to find our voices and to speak out for what we believe in.

 

This new tour will mark the publication of her new book, Out Of Order: What’s Gone Wrong with Britain and One Woman’s Mission to Fix It. In this part diary, part political manifesto, Vorderman speaks with characteristic outspokenness and irrepressible humour to reveal the intricate web of influence responsible for our unravelling.

 

In addition to Bristol, Carol Vorderman will perform ‘Out of Order’ at venues in Manchester, Chester, Oxford, Guildford, London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Doncaster and Buxton. A hardback copy is included in the ticket price.
