Extra dates have been added for Rhod Gilbert’s visit to Bristol – and it’s selling quickly

Rhod Gilbert, the comedic colossus of Carmarthen, has announced a new tour date in response to the wild response to his visit to the Beacon this December.

As previously announced, Rhod Gilbert will perform his new show ‘Rhod Gilbert & The Giant Grapefruit’ at Bristol Beacon - and tickets have sold out like hotcakes. Luckily for fans who missed out, Rhod has generously announced more dates! Rhod Gilbert will now perform three different dates - Saturday 7 December & Sunday 8 December 2024, and Friday 21 February.

When life gives Rhod lemons… In his acclaimed last show ‘The Book of John’, Rhod was dealing with some pungent life citrus, and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour… In July 2022, Gilbert announced that he had cancer, which he has since received treatment for – you don’t want to miss his return to touring!

Rhod’s not bitter though, he’s bouncing back and feels remarkably zesty. Hilariously dark, passionate and way too personal, this show is classic Gilbert, squeezing every last drop out of life’s latest curveballs… with the help from an old adversary.

A beloved comedy talent for years, Gilbert has hosted five series of panel show Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains for Comedy Central and nine of BBC One favourite Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience – as well as the popular BBC Two Apprentice accompaniment You’re Fired and stints fronting Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You?

Despite the length of his comedy career, Gilbert is clearly still on top of his form with a massive following – especially if ticket sales are anything to go by. Sunday 8 December is already on limited availability, so there’s no time to sleep on it! You can get your tickets here.
